Family & Children's Shows
Their shows are interative theatre-style shows with a pantomime feel to them. They encourage audience participation and the shows include live music, slapstick, magic and circus skills as part of their Jellyvision Show. The show can last from 30-60 minutes, is highly visual, and suitable for children of all ages. Each show is tailored to the venue and audience and can take place indoors or out, works well with other acts where for theatres for example.
Punch & Judy Show
Their Punch & Judy show is a lively, participatory show, that keeps all the best bits of the traditional story and yes, the crocodile still pinches the sausages! This tradition is combined with modern day sensibilities, as they are very aware of the show content and how it is presented. Chris is the puppeteer, breaking with the tradition of male puppeteers, doing both the physical manipulations and the voices. Michael fronts the show and creates a link between audience and puppet characters. Not that this is needed, but they think that their show is better for it and that it creates more participation opportunities (although Chris has occasionally performed the show solo). eg they are able to bring a child out to rock the baby to sleep, they are also much more able to respond directly to the audience, allowing the show to retain its freshness and creating unique performances every time. The show is usually presented in smart outfits - bright tail coats and hats, but it can also be present in Victorian costume. The booth is traditional red and white striped canvas with red velvet curtains and a painted proscenium. The show itself lasts almost 20mins, but they generally begin with Michael doing a warm up session of 5-10min of patter, silly jokes, ice-breakers etc. Chris rings a bell to attract a wider audience and signal the imminent start of the show. The show ends with Mr Punch making a personal appearance in front of the booth and shaking hands with all those who wish to do so, often having his photograph taken. He has lately been the subject of many 'selfies'! So the time to be allowed for the whole event should be around 30mins approx.
It should be noted that everybody's Punch & Judy show is different, both in the way it is presented and in its storylines. Snapshot Productions take great care to present their show with consideration and care. They keep their equipment clean and well painted, therefore photographs may vary.
The show is available either on it's own or with their main show 'Jellyvision'
Walkabout & Meet n Greet Entertainers
The aim of a walkabout is to provide a meet & greet welcome for visitors and / or to create and sustain a vibrant atmosphere throughout an event with mobile entertainment throughout the day. Michael & Chris use their wide range of skills to produce a lively & fun atmosphere on an individual level, as well as with small groups. Things work best when costumes & skills are matched to the event & audience.
They also offer a variety of mobile entertainment that can be changed throughout the day. This can include unicycling, circus skills such as plate spinning, pocket magic & balloon modelling. They can present these skills in a range of character costumes such as Ringmasters, Jovial Jesters, Clowns & Victorians.
In addition, they offer specific walkabout acts. One of their favourites in The Mrs Mopps, who are loud, bright, interactive, fun & slightly cheeky, travelling with their own cleaning equipment & gossiping their way around.
Chris is also adept as a storyteller, narrating short tales that are event & age-themed, wearing a cape & hat and presenting a slightly mysterious figure.
Mobile music mongering is carried out by The Travelling Fun Band using guitar, clarinet, harmonics & vocals to be accompanied by members of the audience with percussion instruments.
They are Equity members and have Public Liability Insurance available upon request.
