Punch & Judy Show
Punch & Judy Shows by Snapshot Productions Midlands
Punch & Judy Shows by Snapshot Productions is available for bookings from Midlands
This lively participatory Punch & Judy show keeps all the best bits of the traditional story and yes...
the crocodile still pinches the sausages!
This tradition is combined with modern day sensibilities, as they are very aware of the show content and how it is presented.
Chris is one amongst the few female puppeteers of Punch & Judy performing both the physical manipulations and voices of the puppets, whilst Michael 'as bottler' fronts the show and creates a link between audience and the puppet characters (not that this is needed). As 'bottler' he encourages the panto-style of calling out to the puppets that is the best part of Punch & Judy as you never know what the children will call out!
The show is usually presented in smart outfits - bright tail coats and hats, but it can also be performed in Victorian costume.  The booth is traditional red and white striped canvas with red velvet curtains and a painted proscenium which is repainted regularly to give great photoshoot opportunities for those 'selfie-takers' after the show.
The show itself lasts upto 20 minutes plus warm up preamble of silliness from Michael.
Once Chris rings the bell it is the signal that the start of the show is imminent and everyone should take to their seats.
After each show Mr Punch makes a personal appearance to his fans in front of the booth for anyone wishing to shake his hand or take a photograph (He loves selfies - so please allow around 30mins for his fans!)
The show is available either on it's own or with their main show 'Jellyvision'
